TurboCADables.com - 67 TurboCAD Hatch Patterns

INTRODUCTION...

I've assembled a collection of 67 hatch patterns for TurboCAD v3 to v9 that can be used in architectural, engineering and land survey drawings, and in geological maps. Wood, siding, shingles, glass, water, swamp, stipples, textures, circles and various geological patterns are some of the new hatch patterns.

The new hatch patterns are in the accompanying ASCII text file:

INSTALLATION...

To install, follow the instructions below:

Note that the new patterns should be available for new drawings created using the TurboCAD factory default settings, and for new drawings based on templates created with your custom brush style table. The new patterns may not be available while working on existing drawings or when using templates that were created with a different (such as the default) brush style table.

Poweruser tip: to keep the INI file a reasonable size and maintain TurboCAD's performance, install just the new patterns you'll most commonly use. Although not required, TurboCAD v3 to v9 users may want to first install the tweaked brush style table that can be downloaded from my free downloads webpage: TurboCADables - Free Downloads.

Poweruser tip: Make a backup copy of your custom brush style table after installing the new hatch patterns. You'll then be able to easily re-paste your custom brush style table into the INI file if you update to a newer release of TurboCAD or install a newer version of TurboCAD.

Finally, I haven't encountered any problems using the tweaked brush style table - but sorry, I cannot be held responsible for problems you think result from using the tweaked brush style table.

HOW TO UNINSTALL...

To "uninstall" the new hatch patterns, restore your backed up TurboCAD INI file. Note that when drawing files and templates are first created, they inherit and retain the whatever brush style table was in the INI file.

RELEASE HISTORY...

12.Dec.08: This readme file was edited to reflect the fact that it applies only to TurboCAD v3 to v9, and to update my contact details.

26.Jul.99: This readme file was edited to improve clarity. No changes to hatch patterns.

31.Mar.99: This readme file was edited to reflect the TurboCAD v6 release and update. There are no differences between this release and the 23.Jan.98 release.

6.Oct.98: This readme file was edited to reflect the TurboCAD v5 release and update. There are no differences between this release and the 23.Jan.98 release.

23.Jan.98: Because of an oversight, I incorrectly reported the number of hatch patterns in the original release as 66; there are instead 67 patterns. I re-labeled the omitted pattern (MUDSTONE) as "hatch pattern 67" and moved it from between patterns 26 and 27 to the end of the file. The name of this pattern is still MUDSTONE. In addition, all files were renamed to reflect 67 patterns. Despite these changes, there are no differences between the patterns in this release and the original release.

22.Sept.97: Original release of 66 hatch patterns.
